First European Short Bandy Tournament Hosted in Porrentruy
On September 12 and 13, 2026, the Raiffeisen Arena in Porrentruy will host the “Short Bandy – Swiss Cup 2026.” This pilot competition will bring together six European bandy clubs for two days of matches.
Short bandy is a variation of traditional bandy adapted for ice hockey rinks.
Teams compete in a four-on-four format. This smaller scale helps develop the sport in countries that lack large ice rinks.

- Switzerland: Rinkball Dübendorf, Bandy Club Grand Chasseral, Bandy Club Val-de-Travers
- Netherlands: Noviomagus Lions, Nijmegen Capitals
- Germany: EC Mainzer Wolf
Saturday will be dedicated to the group stage. Each team will play against the other five in twenty-minute matches. Placement matches, semi-finals, and the final will take place on Sunday afternoon, with the awards ceremony scheduled for around 4:00 PM.
First step of a larger project
This tournament will serve as a test run for establishing a regular, large- scale European competition. It will allow participating clubs and officials from the International Bandy Federation to evaluate the format and organization. The goal is to offer two distinct categories: a competitive group featuring the best European clubs and a more accessible recreational group designed to encourage the discovery and development of bandy.
